President Donald Trump blasted Big Pharma for taking out tv adverts alleging he’s elevating prescription drug costs for seniors.
“The ad is a lie!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday.
On Friday, Trump signed a collection of govt orders geared towards reducing the costs Americans pay for prescribed drugs.
“What I have done will lead to a 50% REDUCTION in prices, at least, & Big Pharma is not happy about it,” he wrote. “No other President would….be able to produce what I have.”
Trump mentioned the one motive Big Pharma is placing out “nasty ads” is as a result of the “massive PRICE REDUCTIONS you are getting – not good for them.”
He added he’s the “only President in 51 years that got a Prescription D reduction!”
Trump’s tweets come after a gathering scheduled with pharmaceutical executives on Tuesday was known as off.
White House officers informed Politico that some drugmakers refused to ship representatives to the assembly after Trump issued the manager orders.
